About Budgeting

Budgeting is the foundation of everything else in personal finance. It does not matter how much you earn if you have no idea where your money is going. I learned this the hard way. For years I thought budgeting meant restricting myself, cutting out everything I enjoyed, and living on rice and beans. That is not what this is about.

Real budgeting is about awareness. It is about looking at your bank statement and actually understanding the story it tells. Once I started tracking my spending honestly, I realized I was leaking hundreds of dollars a month on things I did not even value. Subscriptions I forgot about. Impulse buys that gave me a five minute dopamine hit. Convenience fees that added up faster than I expected.

What My Budgeting Articles Cover

The articles in this section cover practical, tested budgeting methods that work for normal people with normal incomes. You will find breakdowns of popular systems like the 50/30/20 rule, zero based budgeting, and envelope methods, along with honest reviews of what actually worked for me and what did not. I also share the exact spreadsheets and tools I use to manage my own money every month.

Whether you are budgeting for the first time or trying to fix a system that is not working, these articles are written from experience, not theory. I am not a financial advisor. I am someone who went from having no clue where his money went to saving consistently every single month. If I can figure this out, you absolutely can too.
